The Sleepypod Safety Test Program

Pets Depends on Us to Keep Them Safe

Creating safe pet products is a responsibility that Sleepypod does not take lightly. From the BPA-free silicone in Yummy Travel Bowls to the crash testing of our carrier and safety harness lines, Sleepypod devotes careful and caring attention to each detail in every product. Safety is Sleepypod's top priority.

The Sleepypod Safety Test Program requires each Sleepypod product meet the highest standards for safety in order to reduce pet exposure to possible hazards.

To protect the joy of driving with pets, we put Sleepypod dog harnesses and pet carriers through stringent safety tests to include static material tensile testing and dynamic crash testing at the standard set for child safety restraints.

All tests are performed at accredited testing and research locations.

 Pet Safety in Cars

Cars were not designed with pets in mind, so pet passengers require exra help when climbing in for the ride.

Sleepypod is constantly exploring ways to keep pets safe when on the road. Sleepypod has performed rigorous safety tests on its pet passenger restraints starting with the Sleepypod mobile pet bed in 2008.

Present

Today, Sleepypod crash tests its entire line of dog safety harnesses and pet carriers at the standard set for child safety restraints. These dynamic crash tests are performed at NHTSA contracted facilities.

Ongoing pet safety research and testing leads to innovation

Sleepypod has logged in countless crash tests and collected a volume of safety data. The research continues. Keep this page bookmarked for new Sleepypod research and testing information.
